Day 1: Marrakesh to Merzouga Desert Adventure
Embark on a thrilling journey from Marrakesh to the Sahara Desert and Fez, starting early morning with a pick-up from your hotel. As we make our way to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Deep South, the scenic drive takes us through the majestic High Atlas mountains, offering breathtaking landscapes and encounters with Berber villages.
En route, we’ll visit the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing remarkable Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Enjoy lunch before heading to Ouarzazate, where we’ll catch a glimpse of the impressive Taourirt Kasbah from outside. Continuing through the Skoura Oasis, abundant with ancient kasbahs, we’ll explore the Amridel Kasbah before retiring to a guest house or Auberge for the night.
Day 2: Skoura to Merzouga – Discovering Desert Wonders
After breakfast, our adventure continues along the Valley of Roses, where you can witness local cosmetics made from the valley’s abundant roses, if desired. Journey through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, Tinghir, and the scenic Todra Gorges. Driving through Rissani, Erfoud, and the Tafilalt oasis, we finally reach the enchanting Merzouga.
Embark on an exhilarating 1.5-hour camel ride, arriving at our desert camp to witness the mesmerizing sunset over the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Spend a magical night in a traditional nomad tent, accompanied by delightful Berber music under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga to Fez – Exploring Enchanting Landscapes
With sunrise and breakfast, we begin our journey towards Fez via the Middle Atlas mountains. Enjoy lunch in the charming town of Midelt or Zayda before continuing the adventure with a stop at the cedar forest to observe wild monkeys.
As we near Fez, we’ll pause in the picturesque city of Ifran for a brief exploration. Finally, we’ll arrive in Fez, marking the end of our unforgettable desert odyssey.
