Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Gorges – Exploring Berber Villages and Ouarzazate
Embark on an unforgettable journey from Marrakech to the lush oasis of Dades Gorge. Witness the charm of old, authentic Berber villages and magnificent scenery, including the awe-inspiring High Atlas Mountains at an elevation of 2260m (Tizi N’Tichka). Our tour includes a visit to Ouarzazate, renowned as the “Hollywood of Africa” for its international movie productions, and the historic Kasbah Taourirt. Traverse through the Skoura palm grove and Valley of Roses, Kelaa Mgouna, before reaching Dades Gorges for a night’s stay.
Day 2: Dades Gorges to Erg Chegaga Dunes – Embracing Saharan Beauty
After a delightful breakfast, venture into the striking Sarhro volcanic mountains, journeying through the Tizni n Tazazart road, a mesmerizing piste offering breathtaking rock formations and gorges. Continue through the picturesque Draa valley, adorned with palm groves and Berber Sub-Saharan villages, before reaching Zagora for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Zagora to Erg Chegaga Dunes – Unveiling Cultural Gems
Following breakfast, explore Tamgroute to marvel at the renowned Coran Library and subterranean kasbah, along with the Pottery Manufacture. Journey to M’hamid, known as the “doorway to the Sahara desert,” for lunch before embarking on an exhilarating one-hour camel ride to the sprawling sand dunes of Chegaga, spanning over 40 km. Relish a welcome drink and sunset before spending the night in a cozy desert camp or under the starry night sky.
Day 4: Erg Chegaga Dunes to Ait Benhaddou – A Desert Road Adventure
Witness the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by a delicious breakfast. Depart in 4×4 vehicles through the old Paris-Dakar road to Foum Zguid, crossing the stunning Iriqui lake. Enjoy a lunch stop in the charming Berber village Taznakht before reaching Ait Benhaddou for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech – Exploring Spectacular Kasbahs
Begin the final day with breakfast and a visit to the exquisite kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a 16th-century UNESCO site and a backdrop for iconic Hollywood films like Gladiator. Journey back to Marrakech through Telaout and the High Atlas Mountains, reaching the 2,260m-high pass. The tour is expected to arrive in Marrakech by 4:00 PM.
