Itinerary
Embark on a captivating journey at 7:30 am from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, the doorway to the mystical South. Witness the grandeur of the High Atlas mountains as we navigate the Tizin-Tichka pass (2260 m), adorned with stunning landscapes and quaint Berber villages. Our journey will pause at the magnificent Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah. This historic palace, a perfect emblem of Moroccan earthen clay architecture, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular filming location. Our adventure continues to Ouarzazate to explore the renowned Cinema Museum. Our route then snakes through the lush Skoura oasis and the enchanting Valley of Roses, before we reach the mesmerising Dades Gorges, the destination for our magical first night.
Following a hearty breakfast, we venture along the Dades Valley to Tinghir town, and then onto the imposing Todra Gorge. Along the way, we'll discover intriguing sites and savour a delectable lunch. Our journey will continue to the enchanting village of Merzouga. Here, we will rendezvous with our camels, which will transport us into the heart of the dunes for a breathtaking sunset at our Erg Chebbi bivouac. On arrival, a warm cup of traditional mint tea awaits. As night falls, immerse yourself in the desert ambience, under the dazzling stars, beside the glowing fireside. Relish a locally-prepared Tagine or couscous meal, accompanied by a captivating Berber music performance. Choose to sleep under the starlit sky or in comfortable bivouacs. The remote desert location offers an unparalleled opportunity to appreciate the splendour of the starry sky.
Begin your final day with an early morning camel ride to the dunes, to witness the sunrise in its full glory. After returning to our bivouac for breakfast and a refreshing shower, we will commence our return journey. The route through the rocky desert to Ouarzazate and over the Atlas mountains, offers ample opportunities for memorable photos. The tour concludes as we return to the vibrant city of Marrakech, carrying with us unforgettable memories of this enthralling adventure.
